Free for 4th - 8th grade teachers: Are we going to live on Mars someday? How about the Moon? How are we going to be able to stay there? What sorts of energy will be available? These questions and multiple classroom activities and resources are all a part of this upcoming workshop. Author and educational speaker, Elaine Scott will kick off the evening as keynote. Ms. Scott has written books such as When is a Planet not a Planet? and Mars and the Search for Life. Finally, educators will get to pick from two sets of four concurrent workshop sessions relating to the Moon, Mars & Beyond as well as a signed copy of one of Elaine Scott's books! Sessions include: resources and activities from Louisiana's NASA Educator Resource Center; Mercury and the MESSENGER program; Moon activities from the LASM/Irene W. Pennington Planetarium; and more. A light hors d'oeuvres buffet will be served. Certificate for CLU's will be available. |
