WHAT: Sci-Port: Louisiana's Science Center works with LSU Health Shreveport and Red River Radio to present a free public forum on Ebola inside Sci-Port's IMAX Dome Theatre.

WHO: Public, Sci-Port staff, Red River Radio's Kate Archer Kent as moderator and speakers: Martha M. Whyte, MD,  Director of the Region 7 Office of Public Health; Gerald A. Capraro, PhD, Director of the Clinical Microbiology & Diagnostic Virology Laboratory at University Health Shreveport and John A. Vanchiere, MD, PhD, Chief, Pediatric Infectious Diseases, LSU Health Shreveport.

WHEN: Saturday, October 18, 10 a.m. 

WHERE: Sci-Port, 820 Clyde Fant Parkway, Shreveport, La., 71101

WHY: Ebola virus disease (EVD) is a severe, often fatal illness in humans. With the first case on American soil taking place in Dallas, Texas, Sci-Port wants to work with LSU Health Shreveport to bring in experts to better inform the public about the disease.
