Sci-Port Discovery Center recently received the honor of Museum of the Year by the Louisiana Association of Museums (LAM).

Sci-Port President & CEO Ann Fumarolo accepted the award on September 10 at the LAM's annual conference and business meeting in Baton Rouge. Fumarolo was accompanied by Sci-Port Director of Sales & Service Ken Latin and Graphic Designer Elisabeth Browning.

"We are thrilled by this award," said Fumarolo. "To be recognized by our museum peers on a state level further establishes that we have and continue to be on the right track with our programs and service."

According to LAM Executive Director Ginny Nadler Thomas, Sci-Port received the award for "best exemplifying the most important aspects of a museum's mission and operation." Established in 1985, the LAM is the state's official museum association that advocates, develops and promotes the advancement of the state-wide museum industry through a variety of support mechanisms, workshops and networking entities.
