50 students grades K-5 from Caddo Parish elementaries Newton Smith, Shreve Island, and Oil City participate in Sci-Port's Science Academy. This year, weekly programs focus on earth science following the Elementary GLOBE (Global Learning and Observations to Benefit the Earth) protocols. The eight week Science Academy program is part of pipeline started by LSU-HSC to improve science education for students from grade K-College.  (54 photos)
