About UsMISSION Sci-Port: Louisiana's Science Center provides a fun, educational environment for people of all ages to explore and actively engage in the world of mathematics, science and technology. Sci-Port serves to spark curiosity about the world around us, provides hands-on tools for using scientific discovery in everyday life, and encourages a passion for life-long learning.

THE CENTER Sci-Port is a 92,000 square-foot science and entertainment center in Shreveport-Bossier, featuring over 290 science, space science, technology and math exhibits; daily changing programs, an IMAX Dome Theatre, open-access, interactive, laser Space Dome Planetarium, gift shop and cafe. Sci-Port is located on the downtown Shreveport Riverfront.
THE ORGANIZATION Sci-Port: Louisiana's Science Center is a private, non-profit 501(c)(3) organization with a rotating governing board of community leaders and a staff of scientists, educators and business professionals. The center opened November 21, 1998 on the Shreveport-Bossier City downtown riverfront. Since opening, people of all ages have explored the fun of science, technology and math provided by Sci-Port's programs, exhibits and educational environments. Sci-Port's strong partnerships with school systems, effective collaborations with community organizations and diverse public/private support have established the science center as a cornerstone in the economic and educational development of the southern region and a leader of informal science education in the state of Louisiana.
LA SPACE CONSORTIUM MEMBER The Louisiana Space Consortium is a NASA Space Program which seeks to network colleges, universities, and state education boards along with partners in the sectors of business, industry, and non-profit organizations to promote, develop, and strengthen aerospace science, research, technology, education, and awareness in Louisiana.
