Bring Sci-Port's hands-on science-as-inquiry programs into your classroom with awesome teacher workshops!  Our teacher workshops are designed by certified educators to provide hands-on, minds-on activities for your students.  Caddo, Bossier, and DeSoto are offering CLUs for these workshops.

Basics of Rocketry
September 18
8 a.m.- 4 p.m.
Free for preservice and K-12th grade teachers: NASA education specialists are visiting your area to conduct a one-day workshop on the Basics of Rocketry!  Participants need to bring an empty 2-liter bottle.
Wetlands Forum September 28
4 - 5:15 p.m.
Free for all middle and high school teachers:  Come, and hear about the status of the wetlands and what effects we can expect in the
short term and over the long term due to the catastrophic oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico.  A panel of environmental experts will provide you with an update.  The panel will consist of: R. King Milling, Chairman of the Board of America's Wetlands (a dynamic advocate for the wetlands, who has been at the forefront of an effort to educate our nation on the importance of protecting, conserving and restoring the vanishing wetlands of America's Gulf Coast); Garret Graves, Director of the Coastal Protection & Restoration Authority; Robert Twilley, Professor of Oceanography at LSU Baton Rouge and Dr. Denise Reed, Professor of Earth & Environmental Science at University of New Orleans.
