Star Party

Use Sci-Port's large telescopes or bring your own to check out the Moon, Saturn and other heralded constellations, stars and planets "hanging" in Shreveport's skies.  Sci-Port staff will be on the Windham Family Rooftop Terrace to guide visitors on an out-of-this-world celestial journey.  A full complement of activities and presentations -- both inside the Sawyer Space Dome Planetarium and out -- will bring you back down to Earth with stellar Sci-Port fun.  Whether you're a curious newbie, a passionate astronomer or somewhere in between, this evening with the stars is sure to enchant.  "May the Force be with you" as you explore the dark side!

Just in time for Halloween, Sci-Port presents Spooky Science Week!

• Come watch as our Mad Scientists summon the Sci-Port ghost and conjure up a Witch's Brew.
• Be amazed by the Eerie Frankenhand.
• See Glow-in-the-Dark Slime and Ghost Crystals.
• Learn the science behind strange spectacles in our CheMystery production.
• Have your face painted like a ghost or goblin.
• Make your own Itsy-Bitsy Spider or Edible Blood.
• Learn nighttime safety tips just in time for Tricks & Treats Night.
